Dale “Bob” Robert Bordner, 71, was born April 20, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, and died in his home in Fresno, California with his family present, July 6, 2026. Bob was a longtime resident of Fresno and will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him.
He graduated from Bullard HS in 1973 and from Fresno State in 1977. Bob loved and cherished his family. He was always there for his children and grandchildren when they asked for his help. He enjoyed watching them play sports, swimming with the grandkids, taking them on outdoor adventures, passing along his musical skills, enjoying their delicious cooking and receiving all their wonderful art.
His passion was music. At the age of 13, Bob learned to play the drums after being inspired by Ringo Starr on the “White Album.” He played in various bands throughout his life and was a music buff. If you asked Bob about bands or songs, he could tell you every musician and their instrument!
He enjoyed working outdoors in his yard, was an avid reader and a history buff. He enjoyed Dry Bar comedy and making those around him laugh, having a treasure trove of silly hidden talents that his family will always remember.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities over the years. A favorite was serving at the Fresno Temple and he considered all the workers there his family. He loved working at Zee Medical Service for over 42 years until he was forced into retirement due to illness. Bob fought a courageous battle against cancer never giving up hope, always keeping a positive attitude to the very end.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie (Wilson) Bordner of Fresno; his children, Marc Bordner of Clovis, California, Brooke Bordner of Fresno, Brett Bordner (Larysa) of Suwanee, Georgia, Jana Carano (Chris) of Meridian, Idaho, and Scott Bordner of Fresno; and nine grandchildren: Madisun, Camden, Kayleigh, Zachary, Jacob, Abby, Charlie, Micah and Melody.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Sybil Bordner, and by his son, Craig Bordner.
Memorial service will held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fresno North Stake Center, 220 N Peach Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11 am.
Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, on July 20, 2026, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.
