Born August 30, 1952 in Fresno, California to Thomas and Georgia Platten, David was the youngest of four siblings. After high school, David joined the Air Force where he reached the rank of Sergeant in his 4 years of service to his country and was a Crew Chief on a KC-135 refueling aircraft during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base and while in service, he met the love of his life, Linda, and the two were married in May of 1974.
Upon his discharge from service, David worked as a Window Installer/Service Manager for Western Products and later became a Service Manager for Anlin Industries where he was known as “Uncle Dave” which would be a moniker he would cherish for the rest of his life.
David is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Leslie and son-in-law Chad, daughter Ashlie, son Brian and daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Noah, Ellie, Brayden, Jayse and Logan. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Platten and sister-in-law Linda, nephew Greg Vidmar and wife Pam, nephew Eric Vidmar and wife Natalie, nephew Douglas Platten and wife Monica and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
A Graveside Service for David will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
