As a great cook at Washington Colony and always tried to please, my husband was very fond of Dovie and visited the little house across from school many times. Your with God now.

Dovie was a very fine aunt and dedicated soul giving of oneself to all her circumstances with true determination and stick-to-it-ness, having that pioneer spirit that was sure to be a blessing while serving her Lord. Thank you Dovie for your kind, loving spirit that is surely off to meet her creator and next line of heavenly work, Godspeed. <3

It's hard to express my gratitude and love for Dovie and Buster. As their nephew, I spent much time with them as a young child. I have nothing but the fondest memories of my time with them, from the many nights at Cedar Lanes to early morning weekend breakfasts at the school. Those days are a happy, indelible part of my childhood, and I am undeservingly fortunate to have had them in my life all these years. I miss you both very much. All my love, Rocky

Dovie will remain in my heart for her generosity. As a deacon at Easton Presbyterian, it was my job to call our list of good ladies to ask them to make food for funeral luncheons. It was always a true pleasure to call Dovie to ask "would you like to make a salad or a dessert?" and hear her reply "Oh, I'll make one of each, put me down for two!" It was so delightful to witness her happiness to do good deeds that I'd tell her "Dovie, I'm sure you get TWO gold stars in your crown for this!" 
After a life so well lived, I'll bet her heavenly crown is completely covered in gold stars!!
