Ernie lived a life full of laughter, love, and loyalty. He was the kind of guy who could tell a story, watch a game, and have the radio on all at once. A true sports enthusiast, he loved basketball, baseball, and especially golf, which he played with the same foursome for decades until recently. Whether it was Little League, high school, college, or major league sports, he followed it all—and remembered it all, including every hole he played in golf. Just two weeks before his passing, he was proudly cheering on his grandson Dean at his baseball game.
Ernie attended elementary school at St. Alphonsus Catholic School and was a 1963 graduate of San Joaquin Memorial High School, where he excelled in basketball. He had many fond memories of lifelong friendships formed while at school.
Ernie had a lengthy career in flooring sales at A&M Carpet, which he loved, especially for the friendships he built with both coworkers and clients. Even in retirement, he kept in touch with many of them, always finding joy in connection and conversation.
He found the greatest happiness in the simple pleasures of life: a good meal, being with friends, time in the yard with his dogs, shooting hoops in the driveway, or simply being with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and a proud Italian family man who kept the tradition of Sunday dinners alive. He loved having people together—whether it was around the kitchen table or on a family vacation to Cayucos or holiday gatherings.
He is remembered by those who knew him for his treasure trove of stories and great sense of humor. Many often found themselves on the receiving end of his good-natured teasing. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Ernie is survived by his beloved wife, Jeri Seita; his sons Steve Seita (Jennifer) and Moe Seita (Lauren); his cherished grandchildren Stella, Sienna, Dean, and Rose Seita; along with many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Antoinette Seita.
