Sue was born in Oak Ridge, Missouri on October 3, 1938 to Lawrence and Stella Grebe. She moved with her family to Porterville, California in 1954 and graduated from Porterville High School in 1956.
She married her husband of 62 years, Ardney (Sonny) Blevins in November of 1956. They later moved to Clovis, California in 1965 with their four children, Catherine, Gilbert, Martha and Dennis.
Sue was employed by the Clovis Unified School District beginning in 1973 and worked at Clark and Kastner Intermediate schools, retiring in 1998.
She and Sonny traveled in their RV along with family and friends, visiting Oregon and many spots along the California Central Coast and most often, the favorite spot next to the pond at the home of her sister Chris. She enjoyed listening to gospel and country music and singing the old church hymns.
Sue blessed her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She cooked many meals and holiday feasts, handmade quilts and in the last years her chocolate chip cookie bars have become much sought after and devoured.
She is survived by her children, Catherine Blevins, Clovis, Ca., Gilbert Blevins, Arroyo Grande, Ca., Martha Blevins, Fresno Ca., and Dennis Blevins, Clovis, Ca., her sisters and brothers, Rella Shumway, Eugene Or., Jim Kemp, Porterville Ca., Chris Webb, Springville, Ca., Ed Kemp, Visalia, Ca., and 3 grandchildren, Mitchell Blevins, Brian Blevins and his wife Katie, and Sarah Baney, and 2 great-grandchilderen, Abigail and Benjamin.
Sue was preceeded in death by her father, Private Lawrence W. Grebe, Marine Corps. (1945), her mother, Stella Crites (1998), and her husband, Ardney (Sonny) Blevins, (2019).
