

Everett Wayne Ellis, age 85, of Fresno, California passed away on Thursday May 1, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1939, in Dumas, Texas to Charles and Winnie Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Norman Ellis, sisters Charlene Straw and Billie Hankins and son Scotty Ellis. Everett is survived by his loving wife Charlotte, sister Carol Johnson husband Mark, son Michael Ellis and wife Sharon Allegra, Daughter in-law Robin Ellis, grandchildren Amanda Cruz, husband Andrew, Jamie Ellis, Jordan Ellis, Cameron Ellis, and great grandchildren Katlynn Cruz, Tommy Cruz and Ellie Cruz. Everett also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in the Fresno area as well as from Alaska to Texas to Virginia, all of which he cared for deeply.
As a boy and as a young man, Everett had several jobs. He did everything from milking cows, plastering, carpentry, well drilling, upholstery, gas station attendant, and dishwasher, all before the age of 18! It was on a blind date in 1958 when he met the love of his life Charlotte Nuss. The two dated and married in August of 1960. After they married Everett began work as a plumber for Clack & Cummings plumbing. There he became a journeyman plumber becoming a partner in the business and eventually taking it over and renaming it C & E Plumbing. After several years as a successful plumbing contractor Everett joined Central Unified School District as a Lead Maintenance Worker and worked there before retiring.
Everett enjoyed boating especially his trips with Charlotte and friends to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and going to San Francisco’s Pier 39. Everett was able to talk to anyone about anything at any time. He was able to make a friend wherever he went. Everett will be greatly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and all who got a chance to know him.
A Graveside Service for Everett will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, Ca 93612.
