He was born on November 8, 1945 in Apia, Western Samoa, to George Henry Charles Reid, Sr. and Luisa Solomona Reid. He attended Apia Primary School (Apia, WS) and Saint Paul’s College (New Zealand) and later completed his degree at Healds Business College and University of California- Berkeley (USA).
He married Bobbie Long on July 31, 1971 in San Bruno, CA. They moved to American Samoa in 1972 and opened up their business, The Shoe Tree. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; children, Sandra and Tyrone, grandkids, James, Kathryn, Jordan, Janae, Jesalyn and Jrue; brother, Eugene; sister, Louise and many, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter, Sonia.
George was a passionate businessman and enjoyed playing golf in his free time. Coming from a family of composers, he also had a true love for music. He had a lot of zeal for life and much pride for his beloved village of Pago Pago. He loved his family and friends dearly.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis, CA from 12pm-5pm.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10am on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Clovis, CA. A reception will follow.
