A devoted husband to Shelley, who became Gil’s cornerstone, his pillar, the lifeblood that propelled his remarkable journey.
Gil, one of three sons, was born to Dr. Gilbert and Gwen Dale in Princeton, Missouri. He grew up on the family farm appreciating hard work, independence, and practicality. He was guided by his astute observation of the Human Spirit and the creed that one is the author of his own life’s odyssey.
He embodied a refreshing and all-too-rare outlook on life. Academic degrees and ultimate vocational titles did not deserve his attention. His metric for success was one’s ability to contribute, add value, and inspire. Enduring challenging manual labor, applicable philosophy, proficiency in the Arts and Sciences, and quirky observations of the human condition via comedy all earned his attention.
Gil gave life to his passions by traveling the world, reading, engaging, and mentoring.
Gil earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri. He attended UCLA medical school where he continued as a Resident in Urology. He ultimately won an academic position in Memphis, Tennessee. Guided by his desire for Private Practice Urology and to be closer to his extended family, Gil moved his family to Fresno in the 1970’s.
For decades Gil developed his reputation as the penultimate Urologist. His enviable work promoted him as Co-Founder and ultimately Medical Director and President of Urology Associates of Central California.
For the last six years, Gil cultivated his expertise as a “medical detective” by becoming a senior Medical Consultant for the government sector.
His remarkable medical career was only overshadowed by his enduring passion for family, friends, canine companions, and his insatiable drive to learn.
Gil’s family, friends, colleagues, associates and patients are appreciative of his profound influence on their lives. He created an enduring gift for all those who had the privilege of crossing his path.
