He is survived by his wife, Mary Chavez; daughters, Sandra Caldera and Carla Chavez; grandchildren, Keegan Caldera, Quinton Caldera, and Colton Caldera; and siblings, Edward Chavez, Francisca Leal, Esther Perez, Marta Robinson, Noemi Beisker, Yolanda Chavez, and Daniel Chavez. He was predeceased by his parents, Demetrio and Adela Chavez, his brother, Tony Chavez, brother in law, Filomeno Leal and nephew, Francisco Leal.
Isaac retired from Kerman High School where he taught Spanish for many years. In his retirement, he continued to teach for several years and taught in Sanger, CA at Hallmark Charter School. Most importantly, he served as Pastor of Swan Avenue Baptist church for over thirty years until he became too ill. He enjoyed playing the guitar, loved to watch sports, he enjoyed spending time with his church family, his wife & children, he always made himself available to help anyone in need, and he loved sharing the gospel.

Funeral services will be held at Swan Avenue Baptist Church, located at 3135 Swan Avenue, Sanger, CA 93657, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 am. A committal service will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706, at 1:00 pm.
