James Battiste Fitzpatrick Jr., born on January 27, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 89. A resident of Fresno, California, James was a respected and cherished member of his community.
James graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1954. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Navy in April 1955, serving his country with honor until his discharge in 1957.
Throughout his life, James was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Optimist Club, Optimist Boys Home, American Legion, and various business organizations. Additionally, he was a previous member of the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary E. Fitzpatrick, and his sons, John S. Fitzpatrick, Rex A. Peace, and daughter Joy M. Rogers. James was predeceased by his daughter, Shelly J. Cunningham. He leaves behind a legacy that includes eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
James will be remembered for his dedication to his family and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
