Born to Salvador and Josephine, the 6th of 7 children in an Italian family. Born and raised in Clovis
In 1943 John was drafted into the Army to fight in WW2. He was in the 406th Bombardment Squadron then, reassigned to the Infantry where he fought to liberate Europe earning him 4 Bronze Stars
After the War in 1945, John worked at Italian Swiss Colony in Clovis where he met the love of his life Ruth Hale. They married in 1948. They completed their family with their Son Johnny and Daughter Darlene.
John began his career in the Wine industry in 1947. Through the years he was well-known as a Winemaster, Winery Plant Manager and as a Grower Relations at several wineries.
John enjoyed traveling with Ruth, gardening and especially loved being with his family and dogs. He also enjoyed his Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
He will be missed for his humor, wisdom and love. The hardest thing about loving him is letting him go.
A Graveside Service for John will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
