A Graveside service will be held at Clovis Cemetery District in Clovis on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. It will be officiated by Scott Young from the Clovis Church of Christ.
Joe was born on November 3, 1940 in Leesville, Missouri to Charles and Fanny Morse. He graduated from Calhoun high school, Missouri in 1958, then enlisted in the navy that same year. Just a few years later he married the love of his life, Thelma Weatherspoon on April 28, 1962. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2011.
He was twice retired; first from the United States Navy where he served 21 years, then again after working as a maintenance tech at Lawrence Berkeley Labs for 16 years. He enjoyed buying and selling from local auctions as well traveling with his wife. He was a devout member of the Clovis Church of Christ for 16 years.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Tracy Ryan and his granddaughter, Kayla Ryan.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Morse, his children Julie and Robert Morse, his siblings Rosella and David Morse, and his parents Charles and Fanny Morse.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Clovis Church of Christ in care of Joseph Morse.
