Joe A. Rocha "Big Joe" was born and raised in Sanger, California. He attended local schools and graduated from Sanger High School in 1953. He was involved in many community and youth projects.
During high school, he helped build the Sanger High Stadium. He attended Reedley College before deciding to go into farming and cattle ranching. Joe was the first Babe Ruth coach for Sanger in 1961 and coached Little League Baseball for 26 years.
Joe became a member of the Lions Club in 1965 and held it's presidency for three terms. He became involved in projects including building the concession stand and ticket booths at the Sanger High School Stadium. He also worked for the Sanger Unified School District where he helped build several baseball and soccer fields.
Joe will always be remembered for his kindness and selflessness and big smile. He was always there for family and friends.

Joe is survived by his children: Judith Faria (Michael), Joseph Rocha, Jr. (Jennifer), Jim Fitzgerald (Susan), and Debra Fitzgerald. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Landry, Jeff O., Augie, Jeffrey S., Bradley, Courtney, Kristeena "Raine," Brittany, Michal, and Jed. Additionally, Joseph leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Rocha, and his daughter, Liz.
A Graveside Service will be held at Tollhouse Cemetery, located at 28200 Tollhouse Road, Tollhouse, California, 93667, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00am. (Reception location will be announced following the service.)
