Josiah's influence on me has been truly profound. I met him when he was 16 and I was 23. He was already earning a reputation as a musical virtuoso. I have countless memories with him, hiking, backpacking, fishing, watching anime, playing games, and playing or listening to music. He taught me the proper way to make chorizo and eggs, he's my favorite person to debate music with, and he's the only friend that could inspire me to enjoy more innocent pastimes, even as adults. He rarely displayed even the slightest amount of machismo, even though we were deep into our adolescence. He is the kindest, gentlest soul I have ever had the honor and privilege to call my brother. His presence was comforting yet benign. He was often a fly on the wall and he quickly grew to become a member of my family. We watched every season of "Avatar - The Las Airbender" and played countless matches of StarCraft or Age of Empires. Josiah had many friends in our community but time seems to dictate that we move on and go our separate ways. Josiah moved away and even I began to distance myself from many friends, but Josiah and I always stayed in contact. Even though we had not seen each other but once in the last decade, he was always there to talk about life's joys and challenges. I remember telling him when both my son and daughter were born. We would talk on the phone for hours with my wife glaring on and I would always close out our conversations with an awkward, "call me!" It's incredible how omnipresent he has been in my life. The songs that remind me of him, the food, and the more innocent moments that I now enjoy with my son and my daughter. Words cannot express how important you are to me and we will remain together forever! I love you Josiah!!!!!

Josiah was my best friend. He was my go to when I needed to vent. He always has a positive attitude and never ceases to make me smile, even on my worst days. I love and miss him very much!!❤️ Can't wait to see your smile again Josiah.  No more sickness, just peace and happiness!! You are very loved and missed by my whole family.

 I remember countless sleepovers, video games and skateboarding.  his laugh made me laugh.  I will miss him.

Josiah was family to those who lived with him in Magalia. He was our bro. I spent many adventures with Josiah fishing, hiking, camping. He brought a lot of joy to all of us.  We will miss him. God rest his soul. Karl S.
