Kathy was a deeply loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend whose loving spirit touched the lives of so many.
Kathy married the love of her life, Joseph Winstead, on February 23, 1963, in El Cerrito, California. Together, Kathy and Joe shared an extraordinary 63 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, friendship, love, and the many memories they created together.
While living in San Pablo, California, Kathy and Joe welcomed their first daughter, Patricia “Patty” Annette, on October 11, 1967. Their family grew again on December 28, 1971, when their daughter Vicki was born while they lived in Federal Way, Washington.
Over the years, Kathy and Joe made their home in several places, but none held quite the same place in Kathy’s heart as Pleasanton, California. They spent about 30 years there, and Kathy always considered Pleasanton “home.” It was a place filled with family, friendships, milestones, celebrations, and countless cherished memories.
In 2007, Kathy and Joe began a new chapter when they moved to Clovis, California, to be near their two daughters and their families. Being close to her children, grandchildren, and eventually her great-grandchildren brought Kathy tremendous happiness and became an especially meaningful part of her later years.
Kathy will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, her infectious smile, her love of bringing friends and family together, and her passion for traveling. Whether it was a trip to Twain Harte, Tennessee, or somewhere across the world, she treasured the experiences, adventures, and memories made with the people she loved. Above all, Kathy had a special way of making those around her feel loved and cared for. Family and friendship were at the heart of her life, and she had a gift for creating warmth and a sense of belonging that will remain with all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Winstead; her daughter, Vicki Noel and husband Joshua; her grandchildren, Allyson Macario and fiancé John Hofmann, Nicholas Aldaco, and Rainee Noel; and her great-grandchildren, Violet Hofmann and Corbin Hofmann. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Nesbitt; her beloved daughter, Patricia Annette Macario; her sister, Annette Nesbitt; and her son-in-law, Allen Passmore.
Although her family will miss her beyond words, they are grateful for the lifetime of memories, laughter, traditions, and love they were blessed to share with her. Kathy’s greatest legacy can be found in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives made better simply because she was part of them.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Hope Community Church, 4620 Nees Avenue, Clovis, California 93611, on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 am.
