Kimberly Ann (McCarter) Donovan, age 61, of Clovis, California, unexpectedly went home to the Lord on August 21, 2026. Born on November 21, 1964, in San Jose, California, to Florence Maybel (McHugh) McCarter and Donald Milford McCarter. Kimberly's life was defined by a deep devotion to her faith, her family, and her friends.
Kimberly grew up in San Jose, where she attended Strawberry Park Elementary School, Rogers Middle School, and Prospect High School. After starting her family, she returned to San Jose in January 1996 to attend Heald Business College, earning her paralegal certificate. In 2001, Kim relocated to California’s Central Valley, where she continued raising her family and eventually met her devoted husband, Don.
Kim will be remembered for her deep love for the Lord, her unwavering devotion to her family and friends, her generous heart, her ability to cook enough food to feed an army, and, of course, her undeniable affection for diet soda.
Above all, Kim’s greatest joy was the people she loved. She had a way of making others feel welcomed, cared for, and at home. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and the love she gave so freely will continue to be carried forward by all who knew her.
Kimberly is survived by her loving husband, Donald Donovan, of Clovis, California; her daughter, Ashley Fide, and her husband, Chris, of Clovis, California, and their children, Jacob, CJ, Jordan, Brody, and Caden; her daughter, Nichole Wolcott, of Sanford, North Carolina, and her children, Cameron and Makenzie; her daughter, Stephanie Sanville, and her husband, Brett, of Hughson, California, and their children, Jaxon and Lorelai; and Michael Wolcott, of Fresno, California, his wife, Priscilla, his daughter, Scarlett, and their children, Michael and Christopher. She leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, a great-granddaughter, and countless dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Maybel (McHugh) McCarter, and her father, Donald Milford McCarter.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Well-Fig Garden, 4545 N. Palm Ave., Fresno, CA 93704.
