Where To Begin My Dear Kirby My Heart Is Deeply Filled With Sadness And Tears Just Finding Out About Your Passing You Had Such A Big Impact In My Life And For That I’m Truly Blessed To Have Shared Those Memories With You I Wish I Could Have Done More For You Daddy ‘O You Were Truly My Angel And Now Your My Guardian Angel From Up Above I Miss Are Stories And How You Would Always Talk About Stacy And How You Missed Here So But You Were Glad She’s There For Her Mom And The Stories About Your Old Co Worker And For All The Times Especially When My Brother Passed Away You Always Reached Out With Positivity And For Me To Always Stay Positve And To Keep My Head Up I Truly Regret Not Being More Attentive Are Randomly Stopping By Your House To See You Or To Bring Food By But. It's been almost 30 years since I worked for Kirby at the Better Business Bureau & he was truly one-of-a-kind!  I can vividly remember listening to cassette tapes of him in role playing exchanges.  In my opinion, nobody understood the "game within the game" like Kirby.  He imparted so much wisdom about the psychological side of salesmanship.  When you're young, you assume every company has a Kirby Koopman "type"...but they didn't.  Kirby was very special & I won't forget him!


I'm sorry for his family's loss and know Kirby is missed by many.  





"Q", my friend, I just cannot imagine you not being here anymore.
Kirby touched many people in extraordinary ways. 

  His personal goal in life was to help people be better or do better in their lives, whether it was in their personal lives or business lives.     Kirby had a very successful sales management career with the Better Business Bureau system and I am sure that there are many sales representatives across the country that will never forget and what he taught them.

Kirby, there were so many stories to tell and we had so many laughs.   The first time I met you was when you drove up from Portland to meet with me to talk about the sales manager’s position and you had forgotten your teeth in Portland.  It was an interesting discussion.  We laughed about that for years after.  Or the time that all of our BBB staff floated the Yakima River in rafts.  I am pretty sure you fell out of the raft more than one time.  Or the fun of flying dual-line kites at the park with Georgie Girl and our Pokie chasing the kites and each other.   You were always willing to try something new.

There were tears too.  You called me when Georgie Girl passed away.   I put it on my calendar and every year I called you, on the anniversary of her passing on February 5, 2008 and then when Bobby passed away. 

I will be forever grateful that Ron and I talked to Kirby just after Thanksgiving and to know that he was happy and content and most important being well taken care of.    When he left this earth I imagine he was following the Christmas Star to guide him to the Rainbow Bridge where Georgie and Pokie were waiting for him.

I always called him Kirby Q or mostly just Q and I am not sure why I did  but he always laughed when I did.   He was my very best guy friend and the joy of knowing him all these years will be with me forever.  
  
So, Q, keep your eye out for me.  One of these days I'll be looking for you. Love ya!!!


I shall miss you my dear step brother. I remember when we were 12 you taught me how to glue together model cars. I taught you how to play Casino. We danced and we bowled together. I am comforted by our family memories and knowing you’re no longer suffering.  Love, your sister, Darlene


I will miss my uncle dearly.   He always had the biggest heart.  We had many laughs together.  May he rest in paradise.  



We are so sorry to hear of your loss.   He was loved dearly by his family and all that knew him.   When he came to Chicago for a visit, he would make sure he visited with my mother-in-law and us.   Many laughs and memories were shared with him during these visits.  We will keep him and the family in our thoughts and prayers.


Kirby will be missed by his many friends and loved ones.  I can see Kirby in my mind.  He is walking along a garden path with Georgi Girl on one side and Bobby on the other.  Happy together in paradise

My father is survived by his brother Kent, nieces Krista  and Kelly, and many many friends. He is a special man with love, joy and laughter in his heart. He is a blessing to all who knew him.
