Uncle Lee,
It is a true blessing to call you my uncle. My favorite uncle. I remember whenever you came to visit it was a delight and never a dull moment. You laughed, spoke encouraging words & made me laugh each time we conversed. I listened to you and my mom talk in person and over the phone for hours. You had a genuine bond that no one could take away from you both. There are so many loving memories I have of you that I won’t be able to list on here. What I will say is that whenever I reached out to you, not one time did you ever let me down. You were always there for me.
From a young age, I was exposed to a great sense of fashion from our family. I loved watching you with your impeccable fashion taste. I’ve always admired your charisma and confidence that took over the room. The hats you wore were the icing on the cake. You had an amazing personality and dope style. You will be missed dearly. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you. It was the same way when you were here. Please tell grandma and auntie hello for me. It makes me feel better knowing you’re not suffering anymore. Love you so much! Rest In Peace!
Your Niece,
Lovee

Uncle Lee, I wanted to say thank you for everything! I enjoyed seeing you cook whenever I come over and see you and my grandma talk about music. I always thought that was nice! It was great spending time with you while you were on earth. You’re in a better place that’s giving you peace and rest. Tell everyone I said hi up there! Love you, Nyla🕊💛

Lee Ryan, My man, and my Brother. There are so many good things that I could and want to say; but I think that if you know Lee, you already know who and what he is about. We met many years ago, and became life long friends immediately and until my last breath on earth. I remember so many ordeals and adventures we went through together. Not to mention the late nights talking, drinking and trying to solve the problems of the world, as well as our own. We both grew up in similar circumstances; but in different areas off and on. Just lately I found out that we may be distantly related through family In Alabama.
We laughed about it and even got excited that we maybe cousins. In the long run I felt like we couldn’t be better friends. I just wanted him to feel better, so we could get one more trip together. Peace is now his. I like to think we helped each other cope with our misfortunes. His love certainly help me to grow.
Rest In Peace my friend and Brother.

My uncle has always had good taste and an affinity for quality. I will never forget the very first performance I ever choreographed and performed in when I asked his advice on where to find or a stage top hat, “any level of quality will do…” and his response came in the mail a week later. It was an authentic, high quality black Fedora. I was so surprised in how great it felt and how perfectly it fit on my, as my mother always called it, Herman Munster head :-). It was my first quality hat that I wore any time the occasion called for it. When I moved to New York City and had only an office cubicle to sleep and store my 90 pounds of luggage in, I made sure that hat was among my most valued possessions. I still have it to this day, 15 years later. Still in as great a condition as when he gifted it to me. I think of him every time I glance at it. Every time I put it on. My uncle. His love for me and my love for him. Thank you for showing me the importance of quality.

I will always Love you forever and a day! You were my only beloved brother to whom we shared a lot in the last days of your Life. We unlocked a lot of closed doors that wasn’t afforded to us growing up. Now we know. You are at peace now and I’m ok with that. Say hello to Mom and Big Sis! Rest in Heavenly Peace Gilbert Lee Ryan.

Your baby sis jerlilia.
