He was known for his warm welcoming nature, and he always made sure everyone around him felt comfortable. Leonard proudly served our country in the US Army and was a respected veteran.
He loved spending time with his family and friends enjoying activities such as camping, bowling, baseball, softball, and horseshoes. Some of his favorite moments were shared over pizza and beer with loved ones. He had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the SF 49ers, SF Giants, Golden State Warriors, and the San Jose Sharks. Leonard also enjoyed trips to the casino, especially betting on horse racing and playing the slots, a pastime he shared with his late wife, Linda. Above all, his love for Linda was evident to all who knew him, and he cherished their time together.
Leonard is survived by his children: Denise Munoz and husband Fernando, Steven Lucido and wife Edith, Rebecca Wilson and husband Troy, and Russell Duarte and wife Michelle Duarte. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren…Brittany, Gabriella, Christen, Stephanie, Joshua, Hannah, Jacklin, Madison, Tyler, Xavier, and Evelyn and 3 great-grandchildren…Preslie, Christopher Jr. and Kolt who will cherish his memory.
Leonard also leaves behind numerous brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends to honor his memory.
Leonard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Duarte, his brother Richard Duarte, and his grandson TJ Wilson.
A Celebration of Life for Leonard will be held Monday, November 18th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
