Condolences to the Goossen family.  Very sorry for your loss.  I knew Leroy at Clovis High School.  I remember him as one who liked to joke; delivering a tease with a big smile and a twinkle in his eye.  A popular guy. I remember the gorgeous blond hair.  Thinking back of the shared time at Clovis High, I think I remember him taking Home Economics/Cooking with his buddies rather than the usual auto shop?  Leroy was coreageous and not afraid to be different. It is comforting to see his great family and strong group of friends.  

I have so many fond memories of LeRoy, a big-hearted guy who had deep faith and truly cared about others. He had an eternal perspective to life here that I want to have! I have known LeRoy since elementary school at Temperance Kutner, and what a privilege it has been to know him. 

Even in high school, his desire to help others was evident. On one of those many waterskiing trips which Tamara has already mentioned, a friend cut his foot deeply from stepping on a broken bottle. LeRoy was the first to volunteer to drive this friend to the nearest ER, using the only car available (that wasn’t already pulling a boat) which had brakes that were going out. Needless to say, it was quite the ride to the ER and our friend was treated and stitched up, thanks to LeRoy. 

What a legacy he has left. Prayers for Jeanie and his precious, growing family❤️

Water skiing with "the gang" is one of my fondest memories of late high school/early college years. My dear departed sister Pam would get up on LeRoy's shoulders when they would ski together. I don't even know how they did it! 

We had so much fun together. It was the best group of friends a young Christian woman could hope for. Peace and love to LeRoy's beautiful family from South Texas' Rio Grande Valley. I wish I could have joined you.

Leroy was an inspiration to everyone fortunate to know him.  I will miss his friendship and our conversations about family, church, the stock market, sports and whatever else was on our minds.  The family was always appreciative of the time I spent with Leroy, but I always knew he would have done the same for me if our situations had been reversed.

Best of all, I am confident that Leroy is standing tall beside our Savior, free of pain and discomfort.  I look forward to the day we will be together again, worshipping in heaven.  Thank you, Jesus!
