Linda grew up in Bellingham, Massachusetts where her father was a deacon in the local Baptist church. She spent much of her childhood chasing boys at the local bowling alley and graduated from high school in the 60’s. Linda was always an introspective person who loved to read and write stories and poetry. In her adult life, she was a strong-willed woman, proud of her Scottish and Irish heritage and was fond of playing pool at the local watering hole. Later in her mid-forties, while taking care of her ailing mom, she attended night school, found work as a nurse’s assistant, and ultimately graduated from the University of South Florida with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. After graduating she worked in behavioral psychology and was the Director of Social Services at a local nursing home. She was especially interested in elder care and helped dementia patients find placement at homes where they could get the help they desperately needed. She also loved to dance and sing, was a good cook, an avid poker and cribbage player and could hold her own in a Tetris battle.
Linda is survived by her sons Paul Bradbury of Friant, California and Karl Bradbury of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her life-long friendship with Dave Sack of Lake Wales, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary (Armstrong) Laird, her brother Bobby and her beloved pet Charlie dog.
Her remains will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California.
Remembrances may be made in Linda's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mid - South Florida Office, PO Box 289, Canton, MA 02021
