Linda’s life was marked by a steady, generous devotion to others. Kind-hearted and selfless in the ways that matter most, she gave her time and energy with quiet consistency—building, supporting, and serving wherever she was needed.
In her professional life, Linda served as the Dean of Veteran Affairs, a role that reflected her deep respect of the Military and her commitment to helping others find their way forward. Toward the end of her career with the university she was a program director and helped launch Alliant University.
Beyond her work, Linda’s warmth and individuality shone through in the things she loved. She adored her cats. She was also a true shoe aficionado—after she and Tom were married, he had to re-do the bedroom to accommodate all of Linda’s shoes. Linda also had an eclectic collection of earrings, each piece a small expression of her distinctive taste.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Witt. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Reynolds of Fresno, California; her brother, Charles Fandel of Pensacola, Florida; her sister, Christine Van Boening of Bakersfield, California; her brother, Timothy Fandel of Kingsburg, California; her brother, Michael Fandel of Morgan Hill, California; and her sister, Caroline Anderson of Stockton, California. Linda was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews who also survive her.
