Louise “Katie” Kehmeier, 99, passed away on June 23, 2026. Born May 23, 1927, in Eckert, Colorado, Katie later made her home in Fresno, California, and will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by steady dedication and tireless work on behalf of others.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, Katie opened her own business—an endeavor she led for thirty-five years. Her professional life reflected a steadfast commitment to helping people heal, carried out with the kind of perseverance and sense of duty that defined her approach to all she undertook.
Katie and her life partner Jeanette (Jan) treasured their time together pursuing their love of the outdoors. They also traveled extensively in their motorhome and enjoyed the trips to a favorite destination in Hawaii.
A disciplined drive for excellence shaped many of Katie’s happiest pursuits. She was accomplished in numerous sports, including snow skiing, bowling, and golf, earning many trophies and awards in bowling and golf. Among these was an award for a hole-in-one at Airways Golf Course where she was a member of the Women’s Golf Club.
Horseback riding was also a favorite. Katie loved animals and at any given time, one could depend on Katie having a dog and/or cat in her life.
Throughout her life, Katie had great joy in returning to her childhood home—a ranch in Eckert, Colorado.
Katie is survived by her life partner of 58 years, Jeanette (Jan) Bibler, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held and Katie will be laid to rest at Clovis Cemetery.
