Lucille Azevedo Wright, age 80, of Clovis, California passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Lucille Azevedo Wright was born October 5, 1943 to Manuel and Maria Azevedo in the Azores island of Sao George, Portugal.
She came to America at the age of fifteen and attended Washington Union High School. She was a member of Fresno Fiber Arts Guild, Sunday Stitchers and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she volunteered countless hours when help was needed. Lucille was an amazing cook and baker and know for her Portuguese Easter Bread and fruit cake. She was quite the seamstress and handcrafted a special blanket or piece of clothing for her children and grandchildren. Lucille also made numerous prom dresses that debuted all over Fresno at those special high school events. She will always be known as "Auntie Lipstick" because she left her signature mark on so many little cheeks.
Lucille is survived by her brother, Lou Azevedo and his wife Lori; her daughters, Monica Griffith, Nicole Amaral and husband Neil Amaral, granddaughters Logan and Levi Amaral, and grandson Chase Griffith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Azevedo, and her husband, Kermit Wright.
A visitation for Lucille will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis, CA 93612 followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM.
A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 836 Dewitt, Clovis, CA 93612 followed by a committal service at Clovis Cemetery, 305 N Villa Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
