Marilyn graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Anthropology. After that she decided to become an engineer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from A.S.U. Because many of her engineering projects involved questions of law, she decided to enroll in Law School. She graduated from San Joaquin College of Law in 2001.
Marilyn was married to John Olson from 1979 until his passing in 1986. In 1993, Dan Trafican III married Marilyn. His four children from a previous marriage loved her and preferred to be called her sons and daughter, rather than being called her stepchildren.
Marilyn was a Past President of Fairbanks, Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She was Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Fresno. She loved watching movies, especially film noir.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Deborah Heinz (Dan); her son Daniel L. Trafican IV; her son David H. Trafican; and her son Douglas E. Trafican (Diana); her mother Barbara Ward; her sister Ruth DiPietro, her brother Lee Taylor and her brother Paul Taylor; her grandchild Dairah Heinz, her grandchild Dezrei Heinz, her grandchild Evan Trafican and her grandchild Layna Trafican.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Daniel L. Trafican III; her father Morris Taylor; her brother Mark Taylor.
A Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Committal Service for Marilyn will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 North Teilman Avenue, Fresno, California 93706.
