Mary loved cooking, sewing and taking care of her grandkids and great-grandkids. She would spend every summer with at least four of her grandkids. Mary was also known for her menudo and she was the one who would cook for the family gatherings.
Mary loved flowers and some of her favorites were orchids and gardenias but she always looked forward to Valentine's Day because her husband would bring her three red roses.
Mary also loved her movies. Her favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz and would have fun with her grandkids as she dressed them up as the movie characters. She also enjoyed old black and white films like The Giant, Casa Blanca and Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. These movies would often keep her entertained while she did her ironing.
Mary was also known for her love of the color lavender and baby light purple. She loved dogs, especially pugs and she will be fondly remembered for calling her morning cup of coffee "La Frappie".
Mary is survived by her husband, Alejandro Hernandez; her daughter Rosemary Sanchez (Robert); her daughter Trini Hernandez (Anthony Felix); her son Alejandro Hernandez; and her honorary daughter Elena Hernandez; her parents Louis & Grace Castillo; and her stinky dog China.
