Maxine Louise Jones, a beloved and cherished presence, entered into rest on October 23, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 22, 1938, in California, Maxine was a compassionate and faithful soul whose life and memory will continue to inspire those she loved and who loved her in return.
Known for her love of crocheting and reading mystery novels, Maxine particularly enjoyed "Angela's Ashes" and "Flowers in the Attic." She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Clovis, where she found deep spiritual fulfillment in her walk with Jesus. Always eager to lend a helping hand, Maxine ensured that coffee and refreshments were ready for church members and newcomers. Her faith was evident through her acts of kindness, as she wrote notes about God to decorate her home and regularly visited those who were shut-in or unwell, spreading messages of positivity and hope.
Maxine had a zest for life that she shared with her family and friends. Christmas was a special time for her, offering the opportunity to display her treasured angel collection and enjoy the company of her loved ones. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was her children and grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, always being involved with their sports and activities. Her love for animals was well-known; she deeply adored her kitty Callie.
A collector at heart, Maxine gathered wood items, bears, knick-knacks from the Hallmark store, and angels. Country gospel music brought her great joy, with Vince Gill as her absolute favorite artist. She also had a fondness for watching "Duck Dynasty," with Uncle Si being her favorite character—she kept a Si plush and enjoyed sipping Si's famous sweet tea while watching the show.
Maxine is survived by her sons Roland, Bryan, and Trevor; daughters-in-law Rosa, Gemma, and Kay and son-in-law Greg; sisters Edie and Georgia; as well as 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard; her daughter, Deidre.
A Graveside Service to honor Maxine's life will be held on November 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, located at 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, California, 95322.
Maxine's legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to be celebrated by all who knew her.
