Milan was born June 6, 1930 in Stockdale, Pa., the middle son of the late Michael Tokar who emigrated from Czechoslovakia at the turn of the century and the late Anne Tokar. Milan entered into rest on June 14, 2019.
The family moved to Charleroi, Pa. where Milan attended Charleroi High School where he excelled in baseball playing center field and was a switch hitter. Upon graduating in 1948, Milan attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. and graduated with a BS in Business and Accounting. In the early 1950's while n the service, he was a center fielder on the Army Traveling Baseball Team.
In May of 1952, Milan's future bride Geri Momyer his high school sweetheart, joined him where he was stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds Military Base in Toole, Utah where she was employed as a civilian nurse with the United States Army. Milan and Geri married in Elko, Nevada on June 28, 1953. After his discharge, Milan and Geri returned to Pennsylvania where he worked as an accountant and also ran a combination Greyhound Ticket-Western Union Office and Restaurant in Brownsville.
In 1958, Milan and Geri moved to Fresno, Ca. where he worked for Harold Berg as his office Manager and later General Manager at PB Loader Manufacturing, Inc. Milan eventually became a partner in the company until his retirement in 1992. Milan remained active in the business world for many years after his retirement. Milan devoted many volunteer years to the DAV Charities of Central California, Inc.
Milan enjoyed rooting for the Golden State Warriors, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. Milan was a member and past president of Fort Washington Country Club for over 45 years and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church an a prior member of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church.
Milan was preceded in death by his loving wife Geri, son Michael, and brother Eugene. He is survived by his faithful son and caregiver Bob Tokar, brother Francis Tokar and wife Marlene, niece Nancy Kilgore and husband Gary, grand-niece Amanda Meeker and husband Mike and great-great-nieces Addison and Madeline Meeker, nieces Teri Tokar, Lisa Tokar and husband Joe Cashier, niece Jodi Gallagher and husband Bryan Gena and Trish Tokar.
A Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home Monday, June 24, 2019, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Tuesday June 25, 2019, 9:30 a.m..
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Tuesday June 25, 2019, 10 a.m..
