As a child, Myrtle was born and lived on a farm at Gum Springs south east of Holdenville (Town listed on her birth certificate).
She attended a two room school with her niece Peggy Neill, whom she was only 6 months older. Peggy never called her “Aunt Myrtle”, but called her “Piss Aunt Myrtle” instead.
Myrtle graduated from Holdenville High School where she met her husband Carl. Later they had two sons; Donald and David.
Myrtle worked at a Standard Oil in southern California from 1955 to 1966. In 1967 she started to work at Fresno State where she was the head Secretary of the Sociology Department. She worked there until 1991 when she retired. In time, she went back to school and graduated in 1984 from Fresno State with honors.
Myrtle was a member of the Church of Christ from a teenager where her grandfather T. H. Wiggs was the minister. After retiring, she had fun traveling and doing activities with the Widow Group, and her good friends, Flo, Jenny and Nancy at the College Church of Christ. She enjoyed her sorority group Beta Sigma Phi. She also enjoyed times with her Bunco and Canasta groups. She was active in the Breast Cancer Survivors in the 70’s trough the 80’s, where she was once “Volunteer of the Year” in Fresno.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her Carl McMicheal (Husband), her three half-sisters; Ruth Ussery, Lucille Ussery and Juanita Ward, her half-brother; John Webster, his wife Lil (who was Myrtle’s school teacher), her sister Elizabeth Webster who died in infancy, and Beulah Mac “CY” Webster-Engle.
Myrtle is survived by her sons Don and Dave McMicheal of Clovis, California
