The family moved to Colorado after WWII and then moved back to California in 1956 where Nancy graduated from Bullard High School in 1960. She then attended and graduated from 4 C’s Business College.
After several short term jobs she started her long term career at the Fresno Police Dept., where she worked as a Records Clerk, Radio Dispatcher and then in Records where she was a Records Assistant and later promoted to Records Supervisor, the position she retired from after 43 years of service with the FPD. During her career she received several awards/certificates/plaques from the Dept.: “Fresno One’s Most Dependable Voice” Jan 1976, “Certificate of Recognition” Nov. 2003, “Nancy Denny Day in the City of Fresno” Jan. 2006, ”Employee of the Year”.
Nancy enjoyed the outdoors; camping, traveling across the country with her parents and sister and other family members. She loved to read, anything from Louis L’Amour westerns to classics like The Silver Chalice or Jack London’s Call of the Wild or a biography of Abraham Lincoln. She was a cowgirl at heart and loved horseback riding.
Nancy is survived by her sister R. Marie Denny, Brother Will H. Denny and his wife Gerri L., Uncle Lawson Denny and Aunt Shirley Hunt. 1st, 2nd, generation nieces and nephews and a number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation cousins.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and everyone’s friend. She will be greatly missed by all, and will remain in our hearts forever.
