Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and most importantly a child of God, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022. Nelda was born in Telephone, Texas, to parents Buddy and Vera Franks.
With her first husband Jack Nisbett, now deceased, they started their family in Texas, and had their first 3 children. Eventually they made their way to California in the 1950’s and settled in Pinedale. After establishing roots in the Central Valley, Jack and Nelda expanded their family with their final four children. On February 14, 1976 she married the love of her life, Louie Pimentel, and was blessed with two stepchildren.
Nelda was the kindest soul who made everyone feel loved and special. She enjoyed spending time with her huge family and her pup Dallas. She always looked glamorous in her signature big glasses and pink lipstick. It was very fitting that her birth stone was a diamond because she was strong and one of a kind.
Nelda had a passion for reading, especially the classics, but her favorite book was the Bible. When she wasn’t reading, she enjoyed doing word searches, traveling the world, volunteering at political polling stations, or spending time with her loved ones. She loved sharing cultural experiences with her grandchildren, through musicals, plays and high tea.
She had a positive outlook on life despite her physical decline. At 91 years old she had an amazing memory and took a profound interest in those around her. She cherished conversations with family and friends, and often reminded them “happiness is not a season, but a moment, so enjoy it.” Nelda lived a very full life. Through the tough times she chose to put her trust in Jesus to show her family what it was like to have a childlike faith in Christ.
She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Louie Pimentel, her son, Billy Nisbett, and her pup Dallas. Remaining on earth to cherish her memory are her six children: Jackie Nisbett (Lydia), Rickie Nisbett (Rhondi), Johnny Nisbett, Marilyn Root, Larry Nisbett, Tina Martens (Don), her two stepchildren, Danny Pimentel (Julie) and Mary Pimentel Wheeler (Ben), her sister Johnnie Earlene Little, her nephew, and her nieces. In addition, her legacy lives on through her 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
If you knew her, you knew she was forever 39.
