Patty was born in Fresno in 1941 to Walter Grawan and Loveth Grawan (Torosian). She grew up in Reedley and graduated from Reedley High School in 1959 where she participated on the girls’ swim team. She met and married Leonard John “Johnnie” Cox of Reedley. They wed on March 26, 1961. They moved to Clovis where they raised two daughters, Lorilee and Lisa. She was a realtor in the Fresno area for 30 years.
She loved spending time with her family and was a volunteer at both her daughters and later, her granddaughter’s schools. She also, for a time served as president of the local PTA.
She enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing trips out of Morro Bay, which was like a second home to her and her family. She and her husband Johnnie were members of the Tri-Lakes Hunting and Fishing Club in Coarsegold for more than 30 years.
In her later years, while living with her daughter Lisa and her husband, Patricia came to know Jesus, and she was re-baptized in October of 2025.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Loveth and her husband Johnnie.
She is survived by her daughters Lorilee Perry and Lisa Messenger (Charlie) and her granddaughters Jennalee Perry-Holguin (Eric), Julianne Perry, Haylee Perry and Patty and Johnnie’s beloved Pomeranian, Buddy.
