It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Rose Lewis, who departed this world on June 20, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by the comforting presence of her cherished husband, Loren. Born on July 22, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to Marcus and Elizabeth Weisgerber, Rose's journey was marked by warmth, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family.
She was a proud graduate of Bethpage High School in 1966 and pursued her education at Secretarial School, which led to her first position as a secretary at ABC Sports in New York City.
In 1974, Rose embarked on a new chapter, marrying the love of her life, Loren Lewis, in Hayward, California. Together, they spent 52 wonderful years creating a legacy of love, laughter, and shared dreams. They raised two children and ran a family business, Postal Annex, alongside their late son, Kevin. Rose also dedicated over 20 years to her role as an office manager with Fresno Unified School District, where her kindness and dedication left an indelible mark on those she worked with. Rose's life was enriched by her passions, which included antiquing, thrifting, gardening, and reading. However, her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her granddaughters, Peyton and Olivia, who lovingly knew her as Mimi. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family were her hallmarks, and her selflessness and generous heart endeared her to everyone she met.
Rose is survived by her devoted husband, Loren, her daughter Kimberly Ling and her husband Tim, and her beloved granddaughters, Peyton and Olivia. She also leaves behind her sister, Elizabeth Ciulla, and her nephew and nieces, Marcus Weisgerber, Nicole Poppe, and Erica Weisgerber. She is predeceased by her parents, Marcus and Elizabeth, her son, Kevin McCoy, and her brother, Marcus Weisgerber.
In remembrance of Rose's generous and loving spirit, the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to Lenity Hospice, whose compassionate staff provided unwavering support during her final days, or to a charity of one's choice.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lenity Hospice and Dr. Owen Goldsworthy for their dedicated care and support during Rose's final journey.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Rose's life and legacy.
Her family and friends will forever cherish her memory and the remarkable impact she had on their lives. Rose's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty of a life well-lived.
