I can't begin to imagine the loss that Shirley's Daughters and the rest of her Family are feeling.
The Love & Support of my Dear Friend will be greatly missed. We knew that no matter what was going on in our lives, we would be there for each other.
Shirley was more like a Sister to me.
I always felt a connection to her Family as well.
I Love and Miss You My Dear Dear Friend . ❤

Miss Shirley was more than a Foster Mom to me. I can truly say that she was one of the few people that I have ever met in 68 years on this earth that was genuine, humble, caring and loving. She will always have an impact on my life. Words like humility and legacy comes to mind. I wish more people were like her in the system. I LOVE and MISS YOU MISS SHIRLEY with All MY HEART 💜 ❤️ Bernia' Walker

Shirley, my best friend my sister, not by blood but Love. She was the most beautiful kind person who Always had a smile. A smile that lite up any room. She has these amazing daughters who have all grown up with their Mother's love. They have become amazing women with children of their own. I felt very lucky to have been a small part of that family. I bore a son, Chuck, who has a son, Canaan, who are both a part of that family. I left Fresno for the good of all an stayed away many years. I left my best friend my sister who I missed so very much. I will never get that time back. I Love you Shirley I will miss you always. God has you in His arms, you are safe now without pain. 🙏

God created you so unique, strong, fun & dependable. You served as a matriarch for our family for so many years & you did it with such strength, honor, grace & kindness! You always made time for people, like for that moment; they were the most important person of all time. Thank you for sharing your life with me and for loving me!
All my love, your #2 daughter.

Even though Gma Shirley isn’t technically my Gma she took on that role with so many in and out of our family. I have wonderful childhood memories that I share with my cousins because of her. Summers at airways, sleepovers with choc milk bottles, birthdays at holiday inn and weekend ski trips that I will never forget. She loved everyone as her own and loved unconditionally. We lost a pillar in our family but knowing 100% that she is with our Lord makes it a little easier. We love you Gma!! ♥️

I was a 11 year old little girl when Shirley picked me up from the department of social services on 7/7/93. I remember this bold lady pushing through those doors like it was yesterday. From what my file told Shirley she thought she was going to have her work cut out with me. She loaded me up in the van and then turned the rear view mirror towards me and got down to business. She started laying down all the rules lol 😆. And everyone that rode in the back of the van knows exactly what I’m talking about lol. I was terrified and was thinking where did they just place me. I just wanna go home. But little did I know this would be my forever home. Nothing we both expected of each other that day was the case. We fell in love with each other and for the next 7 years she taught me everything I know. She planted my faith in the Lord, gave me the vacations and experiences of a life time, taught me how to be independent and how to drive. And yes Alexis will tell you, I drive just like her lol. She showed me how to enjoy life to its fullest and loved me as her own. She was my grandmother and I was her granddaughter. But she and I both know she was actually the mother to me that I didn’t have at that time. Like I said before she became my forever home. Until we meet again grandma I love you ❤️
