My name is Doreen Silos. My husband Mark and I were Sunny's house cleaners for a time. We were pleased to know her for the short amount of time. Sunny was a very nice and sweet light in our day. We will miss her.

I met Sunny in Febuary of 2007 while I was a Service Advisor at Future Ford. We became facebook friends & would chat all the time about kids & working out. I was saddend to her of her passing. My deepest condolences to her children, family & friends.

I met Sunny back in the mid 1990's at Dan Gamel's Gym in a step aerobics class and later learned to spin with her.  The first time we tried spinning none of us could go more than fifteen minutes.  But Sunny made getting up early in the morning and going to the gym fun.  No instructor had ever done that before.  She even organized evening dinners with some of us from her class.  Some fifteen years later, some of us still workout together, and from time to time, go out to dinner.  And yes, we often go to P.F. Chang's.  In spin class today, a particular song often brings back good memories of great times exercising with Sunny.  God bless you, my friend.

My name is Carole, I was an aerobic instructor for many years and had the pleasure of getting to know Sunny on a personal and professional level.  One of my fondest memories was when I first started teaching at Dan Gamel's and I met Sunny for the first time.  I was so nervous but Sunny was very welcoming and helped pump me up and she knew that I always appreciated her.  As the years went by, we had the opportunity to share more than just a love for fitness but also got to know each other on a more personal level and even shared "our" story with one another and found that our Christian beliefs were very similar and I will always thank God for giving me the opportunity to share that in common with Sunny.  I will always hold a special place in my heart for Sunny and I will continue to pray for her family.  You will be missed dearly Sunny, until we meet again.  Always a friend... -- Carole

My name is Sharon, and like another guest book entry person,  I was in Sunny's spin class at GB3. She had the "it" factor as a coach. Sunny's classes were healthy high-energy fun, with that wonderful "Sunny" twist of uniqueness. Her choice of music helped me then and now, without fail. I have yet to find a gym instructor with the same appeal that she created in her Spin classes. She worked hard physically, yet she also worked hard to keep all members happy with her style and her choices for the class. I liked Sunny for her energy, good natured Spirit, since of humor and love for life.
 She also made a huge positive impact on me, due to the fact that she chose to reach out to people who seemed to need a smile and a genuine kind word when they most needed it. She did not need to know why a person needed to be uplifted,she just stepped up and offered a source of empathy, strength and positive attitude. Sunny chose to step outside the box of "instructor" to be personable, kind and helpful to the people around her. I also noticed that she never said anything negative about others. She did not point out other's character flaws nor did she feed on gossip. 
I have thought of Sunny often after she left GB3 Spin class, in hopes of crossing paths somewhere just to say"hi". 
My sincere prayers of well being and God's everlasting grace & comfort go to her entire circle of family and friends.Thank you to them for sharing their Sunny with people like me, just a gym member.

My name is Michelle, I am a stranger to Sunny's family and maybe even to Sunny.  I was in her spin class at GB3. With out her even knowing it she brought me through the most difficult time of my life, when my husband left me and my children.  Her kind words and her music and her class pretty much saved me. I know she was a christian and would slip in christian music, which I loved! I am sure she touched many peoples lives without even knowing the impact. I was blessed and very thankful for her at that time in my life. She was important and a blessing to a stranger.  I am praying for your loss and thankful for having the pleasure to know her. She had a big heart.



I'm Mike, one of Sunshine's uncles.  I watched her grow up.  I remember playing in the snow with Shine and her brother Walter in Big Creek when they were children.  When she was eighteen we watched the movie, "10" at the theater. I danced with her at David & Shine wedding reception.  The last time I saw her we shared a meal with her Dad, and brother's Dan & Walter, Jr.  

Sunshine was there for her Grandparent's last days, first Bill Sr. and then again for Alberta Downing.  I knew Sunshine as a courageous, kind and loving person.  She had a ready smile and a quick wit.  That is how I remember her.

Our sweet Shine, I'm Linda, Shine's aunt by marriage to her uncle Bill Downing. What a darling girl and woman.  I first met her when she was 10.  The family was at Pismo Beach with grandparents Bill and Alberta Downing.  Shine was a wisp of a girl, skinny little legs, big brown eyes and head of pale blond hair.   What a doll.  She was so little and light weight that each wave knocked her down.  I remember holding her against my legs to keep her up.  Not a sensational memory, but one that will always stick in my mind.
My husband, Bill and I are very deeply saddened by the death of our Shine. She had a sweet, caring Christian heart and I am sure she is right there in heaven with her beloved mother Diana and her grandparents Bill Sr and Alberta Downing.  I know they gave her a warm welcome.  Our comfort is knowing that she is in the arms of the Lord and safe forever.  Our hearts are with Tim, Bonnie, Andy and Davey.  We are greatly comforted that they have such a wonderful dad in Dave Prendergast.  We love you guys and we loved your mother very much. Hugs always to you Shine, I know you can feel it.
