Ted Thompson

Teddy, better known as Ted to friends and family was born in Whitter, CA., July 20, 1954. Ted was diagnosed with Lung cancer May 2013, the strain on his heart became too much and he passed away from heart failure, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones Memorial Day, May 26, 2014. Ted was born to mother Vanta Ratliff and father Carl Thompson. He proudly gave 30 years of his life to the carpenters union local 701, and touched countless lives during that time. In later years he had developed a passion for gardening. He is preceded in death by stepfather, Vince Ratliff. He is survived by his wife, Janice, of 42 years; son, Daniel Thompson and wife Nicole; daughter, Holly Thompson; and grandson, Ryan Wolkow whom he lovingly referred to as "Poppi"; grandson's, Dale Jr., and Ethan Jacob. Teddy is also survived by brother, Carl Jr. and wife Lisa; sister Christy and husband Rick; and sister, Karen and her husband Todd; Treasured Aunt Shirley; stepmother, Marilyn Thompson; sister, Marsha Calloway and brother, Brad Ownbey, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of life service will be held at Boice Funeral Home, on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 12:00 pm with a reception to follow.
