

William Bryan, Bill to those who knew him, was born on February 17, 1928 in Morgan Hill, California to Newton and Harriett Bryan. At a young age he had a passion for flying and received his pilot’s license before his driver’s license. Bill loved to dance and was great at it. He and his wife of twenty-five years, Velma Bryan, loved to fox trot and swing dance. New York New York was their song. In his later years he and his wife created Nativity scenes on their front yard for Christmas, going all out to decorate for the season. Bill passed away on February 12, 2017, at the age of 88.
Bill’s career included a number of years in retail management. His later years were spent in real estate sales. His four military years after high school were spent in the U.S. Navy.
Bill was preceded in death by his brother John, his step-son Chuck Whitney, and his two sisters; Dorothy and Margaret.
He is survived by his wife Velma Bryan of Clovis, his sons; William Bryan Jr. and his wife Kathie, Scott Bryan, and his step-children Jim Whitney and Susan Whitney. Bill also leaves behind five grandchildren and fifteen step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Sierra Heartland Clubhouse: 1994 Shaw, Clovis, CA 93611.
Graveside services will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
