I met Wilt when I started working at NASA Dryden as a fellow Ops Engr.  Wilt always had a kind word, support, and  a lesson to be shared.  He was very kind, we still miss him.  I am sorry for your loss, he was a great man.

Wilt was one of the individuals responsible for giving NASA its reputation for greatness. Competently working to solve the challenges of flight or quietly mentoring those who would eventually make significant contributions, the spotlight rarely, if ever, shown on. His accomplishments however were what allow the spotlight to shine on NASA and its many aviation achievements. His contributions to global aviation surely cannot be calculated. He will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

I worked with Wilt for many years out a NASA.  He was such a great person to work with.  I am soo very sorry to hear of his passing. He was very well liked and respected by all.

Wilt was very easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with.
One story I have about Wilt is:
The Dallas Cowboys. 
He was not a fan and I thought that was against the Texas religious protocols!
I asked aren't you Texan?
His response was, "The way they (Jerry Jones) treated Tom Landry was disgusting".

I told him the Green Bay Parkers are warm loving fans and would welcome Cowboy fan!

So I decided to check this out and found out that Jerry fired Tom but did not tell him before telling the press!  Tom found out at the press conference. 

Anyway everyone liked Wilt!

As a test pilot at Dryden for many years, I knew and worked with Wilt.  I respected and enjoyed his work and contributions to our flight test work. I offer my condolence to the Family, at this sad time. 
Wilt was a fine worker and gentleman, and will be greatly missed.

Wilt was a true technical leader and role model for me at the Dryden Flight Research Center.  He represented the true spirit of the Center.

I went from the systems engineering branch to the operations branch for a short time before entering the projects group in the early ‘90’s at NASA.  Wilt was assigned as my mentor in the operations group.  Very knowledgeable, patient, and kind man to work with.   My prayers and thoughts to his family.  

Wilt was one of my mentors  in my early days at NASA.  More importantly he became a friend.  I learned a ton from Wilt about everything from  airplanes to ground squirrel hunting.  I miss him. The family has my deepest sympathy.

Wilt was one of the first people  I worked with when I went to NASA in 1978 we worked on  F8 DFBW experiment with the British. Wilt was great to work with, aTRUE friend.  We went on and worked on many different flight programs together over  many years.

 We will pray for him.
