Anna Mae (Domingue) Blanchard

June 25, 1922August 1, 2012

Anna Mae Domingue(s) Blanchard, 90, of Lake Jackson, was surrounded by her devoted and supportive family in her home when she went to be with Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ on August 1, 2012. She was born June 25, 1922 in New Iberia, LA to Ovey and Laurence (Ronsonet) Domingue. The family will receive friends 6pm to 9pm on Sunday August 5, 2012, at Restwood Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 7pm with Monsignor Leo Wleczyk officiating. Funeral mass will be at 1:30pm on Monday August 6, 2012 at St Michael’s Catholic Church (hall), followed by entombment at the Restwood Memorial Park Mausoleum. In her youth she worked for Brown’s Department Store in downtown Freeport. Together they raised three children in Lake Jackson in the house she resided in for 58 years at the time of her death. (Jokingly known as the Blanchard Compound) As her children grew, she worked at Eddie’s Shoes for 20 years. She was a devoted parishioner of St Michael’s Catholic Church, where in the past she taught CCE and volunteered as a member of the Altar Society and Meal Preparation. Everyone who knew Anna knew of her love of the Houston Astros (and Craig Biggio). It didn’t matter where she was she had to be home to watch her team. Anna Mae is preceded in death by her loving husband, Laurent (Curly) Blanchard; father Ovey Domingue, mother Laurence (Florence) Kuchera, step father Paul Kuchera; brother Oswell and wife Marie Domingues; sisters Emily Bobbineaux, Gracie and husband Ernest Gautreaux, Dorothy and husband Pete D’Augusta. Gene and Kathy, Guy, and Kay---I will always remember your Mom and Dad and all of those conversations on the front porch. The "compound" was always a welcome place to hang out. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Anna Mae

Kay & Jim:
Our hearts go out to you at this most difficult time. Though we've never met your Mom, through the stories and many conversations we feel we knew her well. Take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and that she is reunited with your Dad having "a grand 'ol time dancing in heaven"!

Gene, your Mother and my Mother (Alice Jasek) are playing bridge in heaven and going dancing with their husbands. You can't get any better than that. My heart goes out to you and your family. Janie (Jasek) Steffler
