She was born on November 17, 1937, in Alice, Texas, to Reynaldo and Elvira Garza.
Baudelia dedicated her life to serving others—as a devoted mother, wife, and lifelong nurse in Friona and Lake Jackson. She never missed an opportunity to pray with her patients and share her faith whenever she felt led. Known for her compassion and wisdom, she was a trusted resource to anyone needing nursing assistance.
A passionate plant lover, Baudelia surrounded her home with greenery and joyfully shared cuttings and clippings with all who visited. She enjoyed sharing the meaning of her name “beautiful flower”.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Clute, where she was active in the women’s ministry. After moving to Angleton in 2018 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, she continued her commitment to faith through mission trips to Mexico with Northway Baptist Church. She was deeply loved by the members of her Jeremiah 29:11 and Walking in His Light Life Bible Study classes at Houston’s First Baptist Church. Always ready to share the Gospel, she served faithfully in various mission projects across Houston. She loved to worship her Lord and Savior with joyful devotion.
In her later years, Baudelia’s passion shifted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She embraced her role as grandma, babysitter, chauffeur, and enthusiastic spoiler of her beloved “babies,” as only grandmas can. Her joyful spirit and selflessness touched all who knew her. Even with little, she was always willing to help others. She led a life filled with positive influence—especially on her sons and daughter—teaching them to always do their best and trust in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo and Elvira Garza, and her siblings: Reymundo S Garza, Reymundo B Garza, Lydia Castillo, Reynaldo Garza Jr., and Carmen Moreno.
