Betty Ann Harlow Engelhardt

January 29, 1927November 29, 2018

Betty Ann Harlow Engelhardt loved the Lord and is rejoicing today November 29, 2018 in her heavenly home, joining her husband of 63 years, Harry L. Engelhardt, Sr.

Betty was born in the Houston Heights area on January 29, 1927; and she grew up in Hankamer, Texas. She went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Home Economics.

Her greatest joy in her long, full life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was dearly loved and the hub of her large family.

Betty is survived by five children and their spouses: Missy Funk and her husband Michael; Meg McDaniel; Kathy Magee and her husband John; Harry Engelhardt, Jr. and his wife Renée; and John Engelhardt and his fiancé́e Tracy Ward. She was also blessed with sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Betty and Harry Engelhardt’s legacy of faith is alive and well in their children who also love the Lord and have confidence today that our Savior, Jesus Christ, is faithful in all He has promised.

A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of Betty will be held at Restwood Funeral Home on Monday, December 3 at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Betty’s name to A-Med Hospice: 600 E Cedar St, Angleton, TX 77515; or to SPCA of Lake Jackson: 141 Canna Lane, Lake Jackson, TX 77566.

The family would like to sincerely thank A-Med Hospice, UTMB Angleton Danbury Hospital Staff, and the wonderful caregivers at Carriage Inn.

She fought the good fight and finished her race strong. Thank you, Mom. We will see you soon!

We are sad to hear of the passing of Betty Ann, but we find comfort in knowing she is now enjoying eternal splendor with the Lord. Our family has many happy memories of times spent with Betty Ann and the whole Engelhardt brood. Having such a marvelous matriarch for such a long time has been a great blessing. Though she has passed, may the many wonderful memories you all hold in your hearts bring you comfort and joy.
Love: Peggy Engelhardt Radin, Gene Radin, Wendy Radin Henry and family and Becky Radin Turbeville and family.
