

Billy Ray Adkins, of Sargent, Texas, was born, Tuesday, June 25, 1935 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Willard Lee and Edith Lorance Adkins and died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home in Sargent, Texas at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 25 days. Billy Ray grew up in Caddo and graduated from Caddo High School. He was a purchasing agent for several area chemical companies. He enjoyed fishing, classic country music, booking and promoting bands, cooking, collecting cookbooks. He always liked the outdoors, playing the trumpet and guitar and was an avid sports fan, especially the University of Oklahoma Sooners. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Randy Adkins and his wife, Lou of Angleton; daughter, Debbie McCoslin and her husband Jimmy of Brazoria; brothers, Melton Adkins of Amarillo, Texas, Donnie Adkins of Sargent; sisters, Connie Collins Flood, Margaret Ann Collins; aunt, Charlene Brimage; nephew, Gary Brimage; grandchildren, Tricia Wood and her husband Kevin, Billy Ray Anthony Adkins, Annie Laura Adkins, Linda Jo English, Justin Lee English, Carolyn Valdez, Steve McCoslin and great grandchildren; Daisy Wood, Billy Wood, Kevin Wood, Lindsey Valdez and Jacob Lamar.
