I am very lucky to have had David Montemayor as my Grandfather.  He was a very special man, I will never forget him and I will forever cherish our time together in my heart. One of  my many favorite memories of him would be  when I would take my lunch breaks to go spend time with him and Wela.  I was so lucky to have gotten a lot 1 on 1 time with him.  I got hear how he grew up, and learn how he became the man that he was.  He would give me advise on life and relationships. I remember our first Christmas without my Dad, he had santa bring me a pink bike with pom poms on the handlebars.  I was so excited. He taught me how to ride the bike without training wheels.  I remember his blue car, and I would get so happy to see it pulling up to the daycare when he and Grandma would come pick my sister and I up.  He always did things to make us happy when it was deserved. He was very strict and set in his ways, and I am very greatful for that..it helped me be the woman I am today.   Not only was he a awesome Grandpa he was also an awesome  great-grandfather to my son. A week before his passing, sick and all, he helped tune my sons guitar. A very special  memory we both will never forget.  He will be missed forever, our family will never be the same.  We love him so dearly.  Love you Welo 💙

I have so many beautiful memories of my dad . He loved to sit outside and watch the birds especially hummingbirds, my mom and him made sure they put out food for all the birds. I remember his phone calls asking me about his medicine making sure he was taking them correctly. If i didnt answer my phone he would wait 5 minutes and call again until i answered. Im going to miss those calls the most ... Love you Dad. Your Baby Girl💕

So true of my father.  He touched the lives of so many in a positive way.  He worked hard to raise his large family and wanted his children to have greater opportunities than his humble beginnings offered him.  I will always love you and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

My Abuelo had the best jokes english and spanish and they always came with a lesson. My favorite joke was he made a bet with me he can bite himself on his back with his own teeth... I looked at him like yeah whatever. So he told me how much. I said $20. He then proceeded to remove HIS dentures and with his hands made the teeth bite his back. My jaw dropped and i went and got him 20 dollars worth of lottery scratch offs. His lesson that day was dont give up looking for the solution to a problem sometimes you gotta think and think outside the box. He had wisdom everyday to give. I miss you abuelo. Te quiero mucho.

My favorite memories of my grandpa is when me and my dad would take him fishing and to hang out while sharing fish stories along with other great life memories that I will always cherish 

My favorite times with Abuelo were when we would be outside and playing dominoes. Laughing and listening to him tell stories was the best. Never could beat him all that often but time with him was priceless and I cherished every second.

David is preceded in death by his parents Modesto and Maria del Refugio, siblings Celso, Cuca, Olivia, Alicia, Hubaldo, Modesto, Beto, and Juan Manuel.
David is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adela. Siblings, Carmen, Rafael, Noemi, Amando,  Hector, Alfonso, Fernando, and Guillermo.  His children Maria Montemayor Breazeale (Allan), Carmen Montemayor Lozano, Joe Montemayor (Diana), David Montemayor Jr., Alex Montemayor (Lisa), Joel Montemayor, Liz Montemayor Buentello (Steve), Ricardo Montemayor (Betty), Leticia Montemayor Aguilar (Robert).   He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
