Deirdre Grace Claud

Deirdre Grace Gallagher Claud has passed on, at her residence in Lake Jackson, June 13th, 2026. “Dd" came into this world at the New York Foundling Hospital in Manhattan, September 27th, 1963. At an early age of four years she came with her late parents, Jim and Dot (McGilloway) Gallagher to Texas, settling in Conroe. A child with rambunctious energy, she excelled as an olympic-caliber swimmer. She graduated from Conroe High School and then St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, active in the ROTC; later to serve briefly in the Naval Reserve. Accepted to the Dallas Police Academy, Dd went on to serve proudly 12 years as an officer in the Dallas Police Department. A Harley motorcycle enthusiast, she enjoyed the comradery associated as much as the ride. Her greatest joy was being a mother to two sons, Matthew James and Joseph Alexander Claud, supported by a loving husband, John Claud, of 34 years. We, acquaintances, friends, and family, those who remember Dd’s earthly presence may be comforted - heaven awaits.
