Donald Ray Murray

Donald Ray Murray, 75, of Clute TX passed away on November 28 2015 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston with his family by his side. Don was born on August 2 1940 to Bose Wan & Ina Bell Murray in Konawa Oklahoma. Don married Mary Ruth Early in Lake Jackson TX on June 19 1999. In his early years, Don loved to work on cars and loved to drag race with his brother Jack, racing primarily in East Texas. Don spent his professional career as a Laboratory Technician working for BASF for almost 30 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, visiting casinos; but more than anything else, he loved to spend time with his family. Don was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed. He was a man that loved Christ and has gone to rest in his Savior’s arms.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Bose Wan & Ina Bell Murray; a brother, Winfred Murray; a sister, Juanita Hunt; and a grandson, Sidney Early Jr.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Early; son Ricky Murray (Vicki); daughters Pamela Hale (Cliff), and Cynthia Candela (Steve); step-sons Billy Early (Teena), and Sid Early (Rita); step-daughters Mary Early, and Christy Early; grandchildren Danielle McKeage, Melissa Murray, Melanie Murray, Nicholas Hale, Billy, Allyson, Amanda, and Steven Early, and Taneshia & Kiara Early, and 4 great-grandchildren. Don is further survived by two brothers, William Murray (Fay) and Jack Murray; and four sisters, Ruth Gideon, Helen Klutts, Pauline Spencer, and Lenora Allgood; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Jim Easley, Raymond Roman, Brent Perry, Joe Saavedra, Nicholas Hale, Billy Early Jr., Steven Early, Taneshia Early; with an honorary pallbearer Kiara Early.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 3 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Restwood Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 4 2015 at 10am at Restwood Funeral Home.

Donald Ray Murray will be laid to rest immediately following services in Restwood Memorial Park.
