Edith Garza, born on September 28, 1963, in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2026, peacefully at her home in Lake Jackson, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Her strong spirit, unwavering faith in God, and deep devotion to her family will forever be remembered by all who loved her.
Edith was the beloved daughter of Juan Rodríguez and Eva Cantú, who preceded her in death. Rooted in a strong faith in God, she lived her life with humility, compassion, and strength—always placing God and her family at the center of everything she did. Her kindness, resilience, and warmth shaped a legacy that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Edith is survived by her husband, Rangel Garza Jr, and her children: Alex Garza, Jaqueline Garza, David Garza, and Jasmine Garza. She is also survived by her siblings: Carlos Rodríguez, Elizabeth Rodríguez Cantú, Felipe Rodríguez, and Nelson Rodríguez. Her grandchildren—Jacob Garza, Michelle Garza, Jaxon Garza, and Aubrey Garza—were her pride and joy, each one holding a special place in her heart. Edith is also lovingly survived by many nephews and nieces, all of whom cherished her deeply.
She will be remembered for her devotion to prayer, her love of family gatherings, her generosity, and the comforting presence she brought into every room. Edith’s faith guided her throughout her life, and her love strengthened everyone around her.
In lieu of flowers, our family is honoring Mom’s wishes. She did not want flowers. Donations can be made directly to our family to help with funeral and home expenses as we navigate the days ahead. Your generosity reflects the same faith, kindness, and love she lived by every single day.
The family offers their deepest gratitude to the medical staff and organizations whose care, compassion, and unwavering support carried Edith through her journey with dignity and grace.
Our family extends our deepest gratitude to everyone who has lifted us with prayers, support, and generosity. Every message, every contribution, and every act of love has carried us through. May God bless each of you for the kindness you’ve shown.
