Ethel Ann Yates

Ethel "Ann" Yates passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, at the age of 92. Ann was born on September 26, 1931, in Tuxpan, Mexico to Edward and Ana Willy. At the age of 9 years old, she and her family moved to Texas, settling in the Freeport - Lake Jackson area. She attended Freeport High School and soon thereafter married Dow Yates, to whom she was married until his death in 2002. Ann raised 5 sons, Dow, Richard, Ronald, Russell and John. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who nurtured and cherished all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Following her marriage to Dow she was baptized into Christ and was a devoted member of the Church of Christ

Ann's favorite past-time was knitting and crocheting. She spent many hours making blankets, sweaters, and caps for family and friends. Ann also loved to cook for family and friends, especially during the holidays.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Dow, her sons Dow, Richard, Ronald and John. She is survived by her son, Russell, her grandsons, Justin (and his fiancé Angilene), Richard and his wife Erika and her great-grandsons, Justen (and his fiancé Kierstin), Stryker and Trevor.
