Eugene Edward Bohr

Eugene Edward Bohr (Gene) of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a fierce battle with cancer on June 18, 2026. Eugene was born October 5, 1949 in Watonga, Oklahoma to the late Mary Ruth Crump and Merlin Floyd Bohr. Eugene leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Sharlene, his caring daughters and son-in-laws Jana and Mark Mehl and Gina Bohr and Thomas Ruff. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla, Joshua, and Justin and great-granddaughter, Haidyn who will all miss their “Grumps” dearly. Eugene is further survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.

Following a long 32+ year career at BASF he retired and learned to enjoy puttering around his garden, woodworking and just relaxing. Prior to joining BASF, Eugene proudly served in the US Army being deployed to Vietnam.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park located on Dixie Drive, Clute, Texas on Friday, June 26, at 11:00 am for all to come pay their respects and provide last good byes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Vietnam Veterans of America or American Cancer Society.
