

Francis Marion Polk, Jr., “Captain Frank,” 72, of Lake Jackson, TX passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 2, 1948 in Houston, TX and spent the majority of his life in the Brazosport Area, was a veteran of the US Army, and worked offshore in the oil field industry, as a boat captain on 1600 ton (or less) vessels.
Frank was preceded in death by his father Francis Polk, Sr., mother Sadie Polk Harrell, brother James “Jim” Polk, and Steve Gagnon, a life-long family friend.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharron Polk, daughter Rebecca Goins and husband Timothy, daughter Catherine Mackechney and husband Ian, brother David Polk, and grandchildren: Jenna and Kylee “Lexi” Goins, and Scarlet, Cillian, Hazel, Violet, and Olive Mackechney, plus other family and vast number of friends.
Visitation will be Friday, October 22nd from 5 to 8 pm and the funeral service will be Saturday, October 23rd at 2 pm, with a gravesite service immediately following. Both the visitation and funeral service will be at Restwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Clute, TX. A repast will be afterwards on the patio at Wine Revue in Lake Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Tynia Lee Gaubatz, Frank Dietz, Tim Goins, Ian Mackechney, Randal Tennison, Martin Pennington, Billy Cast, and Scott Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are David Polk, Henry Schutze, Tug Grumbles, Chris Arnold, Paul Franklin, Randall “Red” Yauch, and John “Bear” Watson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Warrior’s Refuge in West Columbia.
