Gladys May (Whitney) Charron

Gladys May (Whitney) Charron was born to Mary and Elmer Whitney in Leominster, Massachusetts on August 9, 1919. She passed away in Saint Petersburg, Florida on January 11, 2012 at the age of 92. Gladys had a wonderful love of life. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Throughout her life she had a full social calendar and loved to entertain and travel. She loved to play bridge. Gladys was part of those wonderful early Lake Jackson years. She enjoyed 22 years of retirement in Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Cosenza; brothers, Earl, William and Paul Whitney; son Mark Charron; son-in-law Sonny Sury; grandchildren, Ryan and Shari Sury; and the father of her children, Raymond Charron. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Sury; brother, Carl Whitney; sisters, Irene Crofton, Claire Damery; grandchildren, Greg Sury, Michael Sury (Natasha), Bill Sury (Judy) all of Lake Jackson, Amy Charron and Matthew Charron of Houston; great grandchildren, LeighAnn Biesman (Adam), Denise Sury (Jason Baker), Markel Charron, Anthony and Max Sury, Vanessa Holgate; great great granddaughters, London, Finley and Kassie; daughter-in-law, Anita McDonald (Gary); sister-in-law, Arlene Whitney and many, many friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan Trafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Park with Greg Sury, Matt Charron, Bill Sury, R. P. Musick and Craig Weiss serving s pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Holzhauer.
